Good morning, Congrats Det 847! We were selected out of 36 ROTC Detachments to host the Special Warfare AFROTC Weekend Special (SWAW) this Fall!  SWAW is basically an invitational that brings other AFROTC Detachments (currently approx. 9) to be trained by Special Warfare professionals!

Background:

  *   Event is designed to provide an immersive Special Warfare experience for 30 – 50 cadets from Dets within 400 miles radius of host Det
  *   Events are led by 19Z officers (Special Tactics Officers/Combat Rescue Officers/Tactical Air Control Party Officers)
  *   Training will include: Mentorship, academic lessons on AFSPECWAR, land fitness training session, ruck marches, pool training sessions, and a mini-phase II day with increased intensity to prepare for rigors of attending selection.
We are working with ASU/Goodfellow AFB partners to accommodate & assist with this effort.

Dates are TBD & looking forward to this awesome opportunity-hosted by Det 847 for the first time!

  *   Fall 24—Det 847 (Angelo St University), San Angelo TX
  *   Spring 25—Det 028 (Embry-Riddle Prescott), Prescott AZ
