The topics and presenters are very pertinent to special education.  Here’s a list of the presenters:

Wednesday:
Henry Winkler is our keynote speaker.  He will discuss his struggles as a student and how he overcame them.

Judi Dodson is a national LETRS trainer and is very knowledgeable about reading and Dyslexia.  She also has two wonderful books that support the teaching of reading and oral language through manipulatives.

Tricia Quisenberry is Texas Scottish Rite educator and is also very knowledgeable in reading and Dyslexia.  She will be working with comprehension during her session.

Thursday:
Leticia Frausto-Diaz (Paddock) will speak on assessing and serving ELL students with Dyslexia.

Dr. Pat Sekel will discuss handwriting and compositions for Dyslexic students.

We will also have a parent night on Wednesday, October 13 from 5:30 – 7:00.  Tricia Quisenberry will be discussing how to help your Dyslexic child be successful in school and in life.
