Okay folks, I've made a few phonecalls about vertical training, and here is what we are looking at so far:
Called Becky from GGG who runs basically a caving school in Austin, she also does cave rescue seminars and sounded happy to both sell us rope and help get us started as long as we can either meet her half-way or drive all the way to austin. Half-way marks include Enchanted Rock, Colorado Bend, or even Punkin and Deep cave. What I need y'all to do before next thursdays meeting is to go over your syllabuses and pick out some weekends (and specific days on weekends) that you'd be available to travel.
Be sure to think about one day trainings. We may end up staying the night if we are done late and are in austin, but it would probably be better to just trade drivers till we got back. Becky said she may be available for entire weekends but that probably won't be possible until at least late march/early april.
So, check your schedules, and email me if you have any questions (since I'm constantly paranoid that alot is lost in the written page) or call at 417 230 1696. Its important that everyone knows what weekends they will be available for the trainings and the trip itself (shoot for late april if possible) so that we can communicate our plans.
We only have about 8 weeks to get all this right, so time will run out fast. So, to reiterate, come to next thursday's meeting with the weekends you know you'll be available.
