PBSS Meeting notes

October 12, 2010



Present: Bill Bentley, Tony Abernathy, Allen Laman, Alex Ormsby, Benjamin 
Ormsby, Matthew Ormsby,  Jacqui Thomas. Visitor now member Andrew McCarthy.

The meeting opened at 1910, but the gavel was still on its way from Sonora 
via San Angelo so it probably opened with the catsup bottle, plastic though 
it is.

Treasurer's report. We have $718, $30 of which is cash.

Membership discussed the bid for patches we received from the Krelman 
Company and decided to purchase 50 (the minimum number of patches) for PBSS, 
3 inch squares of our logo. We can probably sell them for around $3.00 and 
still cover shipping. Bill will send in the bid form with a check and send 
hard copies of our graphics.

The Comanche Springs surveying trip is postponed until spring after 
irrigation starts up again. The heavy rains have filled the low spots sooner 
than usual.

 We are digging in Sonora November 13th and the Fieldses are expecting us. 
Bill summarized our activities and finds through the last trip, and we 
directed people to the May 2009 issue of the Hole News for a synopsis of the 
dig. Jacqui will call for committed attendees about 2 weeks before. We may 
be joined by some folks from Bexar grotto-Rick Corbell will announce it at 
the next 2 meetings. We will need 10 diggers to be at our most efficient.

Rperesentatives of DIRT were not able to present their proposal about caving 
trips. We discussed places they could go and the new permitting due to WNS.

We really, really want to get into a cave and some of us have not been to 
Abyss, so Jacqui will be calling the rancher.

TCR this weekend and looks like only Bill will be attending. Jacqui was 
mocked severely for not attending because of an event in Sonora. SWR Winter 
Tech will be the 1st Saturday in December in Carlsbad, NM. Hold the date.
