Hey everybody welcome back to the fall semester!  I know that we haven't
been sending out emails about some things but we are working on that.  So
to start out the new semester we are going to be trying some new things. 
For one we will now send out an email after every meeting that way the
people who were not able to attend know what is going on.  I know we
should have done this sooner but please bear with us we are trying to make
this club work and some ideas take a little longer to put into play.

Here are some things that are changing and a few ideas that we have talked
about that we will be voting on at the next meeting:

1. The meetings are now every other Friday at 5pm.
   Hopefully with this more people will be able to attend.  If this time
still doesn't work with you please let Dustin or myself (Sammie) know.

The next meeting will be held on October 2nd!

2. We are planning on having a booth of some sort at the Discover ASU.
   That way we can get more membership (hopefully)

3. We were thinking about having a large trip at the end of the spring
semester and using the SOL(sp)funds to fund it and doing so every year.

4. By implementing #3 we were also thinking about some smaller trips that
unfortunately will be out of pocket because most of those have less than
30days notice.  Also, the thing with the smaller trips is that if you want
to go on these trips you will need to place down a deposit on the trip. We
are still discussing the amount; we will finish discussing it next meeting
(maybe).  The reason for the deposits is that we have in the past had a
couple of people drop out of the trips for various reasons and thus making
the cost for the other people higher.

5. Using club funds to buy rope, spare tents, a first aid kit, cooking
wear, and a tub for the gear.

6. The last thing we discussed is  the possibility of using club funds for
individual memberships with for example the NSS (National Speleological
Society)

Please remember that most of the items mentioned above are still being
talked about and we are planing on putting them to a vote at the next
meeting.

Another thing if you know someone who is a member and for some reason is
not getting these emails please let us know.  That way we can add their
email address to the list and they can be up to date on things.

So remember that the next meeting is OCTOBER 2ND (FRIDAY) AT 5PM IN THE MCS.
