Good morning Det 847,

The following are the details for Saturday's Dining Out Awards Banquet
(DOAB):

*Who*: Cadets and cadre. This event is mandatory, and guests are not
permitted
*What*: An end-of-the-year formal banquet for cadets and cadre with food,
grog, games, and dancing
*When*: Saturday, May 2. Arrive NLT1630. You may leave after the Change of
Command Ceremony, which is set to end at 1940, but there will be dancing
and music from 1940-2030 for those who choose to stay.
*Where*: LeGrand Alumni Center (1620 University Ave, San Angelo, TX 76909)
*Why*: To wrap up the year with a final acknowledgement of cadets'
accomplishments

*Uniform*: The uniform for this event is full service dress for those who
have been issued it, and business professional for those who have not.

*Notes for the Grog*: Per Air Force tradition, DOAB will feature a grog
bowl which you certainly DO NOT want to drink from. In order to avoid
having to do so, observe the following rules:

   1. Thou shalt not leave the mess whilst convened. Military protocol
   overrides all calls of nature.
   2. Thou shalt ensure that thy glass is always charged when toasting.
   3. Thou shalt not murder the Queen's English.
   4. Thou shalt stand should a lady depart from, or arrive at the table.
   5. Thou shalt ensure that thy uniform is in accord with proper dress and
   appearance standards
   6. Thou shalt neither lose a round, nor repeat and answer during AFROTC
   Family Feud

If you see someone violate any of these rules (except for cadre), you will
have the chance to send them to the grog via accusatory rhyme. For example:
"Cadet Dobby I did see, thy cuff poking out from under thy sleeve" (This is
a violation of rule #5). Come prepared with rhymes!

These rules will be restated at DOAB, but make sure you are familiar with
them ahead of time. If you have any questions regarding this event, please
