Good afternoon, here’s an opportunity for an online financial readiness program for Cadre/Cadets.  Bottomline, goal of the program is to inform us through courses on making smart financial decisions and pursue long term financial security. Good Afternoon Commanders!

It was wonderful to see each of you this week during the AFROTC Detachment Commander Symposium. As promised, here is some additional information pertaining to the Take Command Program as well as the attached flyer with QR code for your bulletin boards. I know that most of our folks primarily check their .edu email, so I am hoping you will pass this along to all members within your formations.

In 2023, the Holm Center worked closely with the First Command Education Foundation to provide our members with a distance learning opportunity that will allow each member to have a better understanding of their personal financial readiness. Brig Gen Cantwell and I understand that many of our teammates are geographically separated from a typical brick and mortal installation that offers financial counseling via Military and Family Readiness Centers or other avenues.  We also know that many of our folks serve in locations that present financial challenges regarding housing, childcare, medical expenses, and other costs not typically incurred when your duty location is at or near a military base.  Moreover, we recognize that each of our members have a busy lifestyle that may not allow them to seek financial guidance over the course of their normal duty day.  To that end, Brig Gen Cantwell and I are proud to announce the launch of Take Command for all Holm Center Personnel, their families, and AFROTC Cadets.

Take Command is an online financial readiness education program designed to prepare service members (to include our civilians and AFJROTC personnel) to make smart, informed financial decisions and effectively pursue long-term financial security from entry into military service until separation or retirement.  To meet the demanding lifestyle each member has, most courses take no more than an hour to complete and are accessible 24/7 via your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

But wait, there is more!   Members will be able to request credit hours from The American College of Financial Services (TAC) upon completion of the Take Command program. To receive the maximum 3 credit hours from TAC, you must complete 20 Take Command courses.  If unable to complete 20 courses, you can complete 14 courses for 2 credit hours or 7 courses for 1 credit hour. Fees may apply to receive a paper transcript, but not the college credit hour(s).
