Hi everyone,

I just received notice that the *Lions Highway Cleanup scheduled for
Saturday, April 18 has been canceled*, and there is no rescheduled date at
this time.

I know many of you were counting on this opportunity to complete your
service hours, so I’ve put together two alternative options that you can
complete on your own time:

*Option 1: Cards for Children in Hospitals*
Create handwritten or handmade cards for children going through medical
treatments. Please be intentional and thoughtful—avoid generic phrases like
“get well soon” and do not include religious references, as we don’t know
each child’s situation. Instead, focus on encouraging messages like “I’m
proud of you,” “You’re so strong,” or “You’re amazing.”

   - Estimated time: ~20 minutes per card
   - 1 hour = 5 cards
   - 2 hours = 10 cards

*Option 2: Food for the Homeless*
Prepare a baked good or food item (sandwiches, snacks, etc.) that can be
distributed to individuals in need. You do not have to pass it out
yourself—I can handle that. Just ensure everything is packaged and ready.

You can drop off your items on *Saturday* or *Monday*, or we can coordinate
another time if needed.

If you were planning to rely on this Saturday to complete your hours, this
will serve as your substitute. Please reach out and let me know which
option you plan to complete.

Thank you all for your flexibility and for continuing to serve.

Best,

*Tatiana Alvarez,*
