[Betaalphapsi] Accounting Lab

Beta Alpha Psi Members,

I've had several of you ask about volunteering in the Accounting Lab; therefore, I thought I'd send an email to clarify a few things.


  1.  You only need one hour per semester to remain in good standing. I apologize for the confusion in the handbook. The three hours referenced there is a total service hour requirement for the academic year. It consists of one hour in the lab in the fall + one hour in the lab in the spring + one hour that we'll do together on a different service project (tbd). Of course you are always free to do more hours in the lab. The top five students this semester, based on volunteer hours, will receive a gift card.
  2.  The lab hours and location vary. I've attached a flyer with the details.
  3.  You do not need to schedule ahead to volunteer. Just show up. I'll be there to log your time and assist.
  4.  You do not need to know everything about every accounting class. I don't even know how to answer tax questions! That's okay. Don't be intimidated. We will help each other and if necessary, we can refer students to specific professor's office hours.
