The Angelo State football team will enjoy a little time in the spotlight
this season as the Rams will be part of a nationally televised game this
season when they travel to conference foe Tarleton State.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday its slate of six nationally broadcast
Division II games with the ASU-TSU clash to close out its broadcast schedule
at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville.  The game
was originally scheduled for the following Saturday, but was moved up two
days to match up the national schedule.  The game will also be syndicated
through regional sports networks and made available via broadband at
<http://www.ncaa.com?DB_OEM_ID=12200> www.ncaa.com.  This marks the third
straight season that teams from the Lone Star Conference have been selected
to be nationally televised.

"This is very exciting news for the ASU football program," Rams head coach
Dale Carr said.  "It's great for the program to get the national exposure
and will provide a boost in the recruiting process."

The Rams and Texans have a long tradition of competitive games with ASU
holding a 14-10 all-time advantage in the series that dates back to 1965.
Both teams have advanced to the NCAA D-II Postseason in recent years.

The CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) is a multimedia network and
the first dedicated exclusively to college sports 24 hours a day.  It
consists of CBS College Sports, a digital television service seen in more
than 20 million homes via cable and satellite, and

network of 215 official college websites.  CBS College Sports is available
on cable and satellite in San Angelo.

The partnership between NCAA D-II and CBS College Sports Network began in
2006 with three regular season televised games, including the contest
between Abilene Christian and West Texas A&M.  Last season, the network
broadcast four games, including Texas A&M-Commerce's season-opener at
Pittsburg State (Kan.)

Other NCAA D-II games to be broadcast on CBS College Sports this fall are:

Fort Valley State at Valdosta State, Sat., Aug. 23
North Alabama at Carson-Newman, Thurs., Sept. 4
Southwest Minnesota State at Minnesota-Duluth, Thurs., Sept. 11
Kutztown vs. Bloomsburg, Thurs., Sept. 18 (site to be determined)
Western State vs. Mesa State, Thurs., Oct. 16
