[Aphra_behn_society] Board position open

ELECTIONS AND NOMINATIONS

The Aphra Behn Society is looking for a Member-at-Large to replace Jennifer Golightly, who has served the maximum of two terms in this position. Jennifer has been a dedicated officer and we are very grateful that she will remain a part of the Society, not only as a member but also as co-Managing Editor of ABO and chair of one of the two Aphra Behn Society panels at ASECS in 2013.

I am soliciting nominations to fill Jennifer’s seat as Member-at-Large, to serve a three-year term from November 1, 2012-October 31, 2015. It is renewable once. As a member of the Board, Members-at-Large help make decisions regarding the governance and administration of the society. They are expected to attend Aphra Behn Society events if at all possible, including our biannual conference and ABS panels at ASECS, and participate electronically in the administration of the Society. This position is open to all members. This is a wonderful opportunity to become more active in a collegial, international organization.

You may nominate yourself as well as someone else, but we do ask that you receive permission from anyone you wish to nominate before doing so. The election will take place electronically during the last two weeks of October, 2012.
