Good morning, all! As you may know, ABS is meeting in conjunction with the Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, October 27-29, at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. MCmAster is well-known for its library collections in eighteenth-century subjects. Martine Watson Brownley will represent the society as one of the plenary speakers.
While ABS members will be able to submit proposals to the general conference (and I will forward that cfp as soon as I get it), we are going to have 3 specifically designated panels restricted to ABS members. The topics are generally as follows: One panel on Teaching Women's Texts (at whatever level you choose); Editing Women's Texts, and Writing Women's Lives. (They will have much more interesting titles when I send them on to Peter Walmsley).
What I would like by February 15:
proposals for these panels (title, description of the presentation, your email and snail mail addresses and places of affiliation, and any a/v requirements). I will accept up to 4 for each panel. Email submission please.
Three people to volunteer to chair the panel (again, I will need addresses and affiliations). One bonus for being chair is that you will be able to name the panel!

So please volunteer now, and watch this space for updates.
best wishes, Martha Bowden
