<p class="MsoNormal">Good Afternoon & hope everything is well. Understand that our Det Fitness goal is to inspire/motivate cadets to constantly improve on a holistic physical conditioning program that encompasses aerobic conditioning/strength and includes
healthy eating lifestyle. Congrats recently for those cadets that have passed and excelled. Special mention to those 72% percent of you that have increased your scores from your last assessment on the way to your fitness goals! <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in">Since day 1, I’ve mentioned as long as your improving your score we want to meet you half way. However, I want to give you new guidance in support of that mindset. First, let me start by saying that the Air Force
has a PT policy/standard that if you lag on meeting it, you will eventually be removed and not able to serve. The way I see a passing PT test or meeting the standard, if you pass or excel at your PT test it’s a ticket to serve your nation! However, be aware
in AFROTC the competition is fierce on officer slots and there are other factors such as (GPA/CC OM/etc…) that will need to be met to be commissioned. Bottom line: if you don’t have a passing PFA at a certain point in your Cadet life cycle, commissioning
is impossible. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">New Specific Guidance: My intent is as long as you keep improving your score the Det will support your training for those that are not meeting the standard.
<b><u><span style="background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow">Starting next semester</span></u></b><span style="background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow">, for those who have a failing PFA make sure you increase(total pts) every time you take a subsequent PFA(mock/official).
These cadets will also generate a PT improvement program mentored by their AS professor to target improvement thresholds for the semester. For failed PFAs, if you fail to increase(stay same/or decrease) on your PFA total score you will be Det dropped</span>.
I have made this decision for safety reasons…if you can’t continuously handle the training we run the risk of getting you hurt or injured(not the intent). Next reason is Cadet continuous improvement! Leaders(cadets) know their weaknesses and if they constantly
don’t do anything about it then they are not going to meet the standard. As leaders, you will need to be the example and not meeting the standard is the opposite of it!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Move Forward: If you have a recent failing PFA you <u>will</u> take it again on
<u>5 Dec 2023</u>. Intent is for you to work on your continuous improvement in order to meet the standard. For those with passing PFA scores & want to possibly increase your score, you can take it again during the same time above (again not mandatory). For
all, the <u>most recent</u> test will be the one that will be recorded in WINGS with no exceptions.

<p class="MsoNormal">*If you have a passing PT Test and subsequently fail, Cadre & I will look at that in an individual basis and determine outcome especially in the differences of a cadet lifecycle. <o:p></o:p></p>
